The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has successfully secured all chairmanship and councillorship positions in Zamfara State, with the exception of the results from Birnin Magaji and Kaura Namoda Local Governments, which had not been submitted as of Saturday night.
Announcing the outcomes, Hon Bala Aliyu Gusau, Chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC), confirmed that the vote counting was conducted in the presence of representatives from all participating political parties. He declared the election to be free, fair, credible, and peaceful, noting that no party raised any objections regarding the election’s conduct.
Gusau indicated that the results for Birnin Magaji and Kaura Namoda local governments would be disclosed on Sunday. He also mentioned that once the results are finalized, the winners would receive their certificates of return and be sworn in at the Government House the same day.
He commended the security agencies and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a successful election, stating that the commission did not receive any reports of irregularities.
