The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) in Libya has deported 13 migrants, comprising seven Nigerians, three Bangladeshis, and three Ghanaians, for breaching Libyan laws.
The deportees were held at the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Centre before being flown out of Libya from Benina International Airport in Benghazi.
Migrant Rescue Watch, an organization monitoring migration issues, confirmed the deportation through their official X account on Tuesday, stating that the individuals were returned to their home countries due to legal infractions.
“DCIM deported 13 migrants (3 Bangladeshis, 3 Ghanaians, and 7 Nigerians) from the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Centre via Benina International Airport in Benghazi. All individuals were deported for violating laws in force in the Libyan state,” their statement read.
