Oroki Crystals Club has successfully wrapped up its highly anticipated quiz and debate competition, which took place on November 6, 2024, at the Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo.
The event brought together nine secondary schools from across Osun State, aiming to foster academic excellence and promote critical thinking among students. Each participating school was represented by two students who engaged in intense intellectual exchanges.
Osogbo Grammar School emerged as the overall winner, securing the first-place spot. Saint Charles Grammar School, Osogbo, claimed second place, while Ansar-Deen Grammar School, Osogbo, came in third.
The winners received prizes aimed at supporting their educational pursuits. Osogbo Grammar School, as the first-place winner, was awarded a comprehensive package covering WAEC and NECO examination registration and fees, as well as full tuition for the first year at the 100-level for their participating students. Saint Charles Grammar School received a WAEC examination registration and fee payment, along with a 50% subsidy on 100-level tuition for its representatives. Ansar-Deen Grammar School’s students will benefit from JAMB registration and examination fees, easing their path toward tertiary education.
It would be recalled that Osun State, through Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology officially endorsed the event in a letter dated October 18, 2024. In the letter, the Ministry praised Oroki Crystals Club’s dedication to educational advancement in Osun State. Mrs. O.A. Adeoye, representing the Permanent Secretary, commended the club’s commitment to academic enrichment and its patriotic efforts to inspire the next generation of leaders through initiatives like this.
The competition concluded with an award presentation and closing remarks, reinforcing Oroki Crystals Club’s mission to empower students and enhance education standards across the state.
