The Offa Students Union (OSU) National Headquarters held its Inter-House Sports competition and the grand finale of annual Summer School 7-a-side competition on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at Offa Grammar School (OGS).
The event saw students grouped into six houses, with traditional houses like Olofa, Ijaya, Ijaodola, and Amototo. There were also the newly introduced Offa Descendants Union (ODU) and Agboola (Founder of Excellence Chalk) Houses.
Olofa House, distinguished by its blue attire, emerged victorious in all activities, followed by Ijaodola House (yellow), Ijaya House (red), and Amototo House (green). Colours for the newly introduced ODU and Agboola Houses are yet to be assigned.
The competition featured various activities including relay races, cultural dances, and choreography, showcasing the students’ talents and athleticism.
Alhaji Sulaiman Olatunji Omi Tuntun, CEO of Unique Kitchen and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for the upcoming September 21 election, supported the event with a donation of ₦50,000 through his representatives.
Additionally, Comrade Taofeek Olaosebikan, Public Relations Officer of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) NHQ, presented flags and an athletic track board to the Summer School Houses.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Sir Abdulrasheed Ijaodola SAN, Abiodun Saheed Sanjo alias SOJ (former OSU National President), Olabode Olamide Olamination (former OSU Principal), Comrade Nurudeen Akere (former OSU National President), Abubakar Sodiq Biggy, Olawole Jubril (FMJ Ibolo), Adebayor Semiu Opeyemi alias Soldier Boy, Comrade Kolawole Mayowa Sodiq alias Comrade Top (current Assistant Secretary General of the National Association of Nigerian Students – NANS), and Pastor Opatola Gbenga Jacob (Assistant General Secretary 2 of the Offa Descendants Union NHQ).
The success of the event reflects the continued commitment of the Offa Students Union to fostering unity and promoting educational excellence among the youth of Offa.
