…Severes body, buries it in shallow grave
A 29-year-old man, Mizanmi Abubakar, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for murdering his 65-year-old father, Abubakar Adawa, in Minna, the state capital.
The incident occurred on Sunday in the Barkin-Sale area of Minna. After the killing, Abubakar severed his father’s body and buried him in a shallow grave within their compound.
The family had reported Adawa missing earlier, and the police launched an investigation after receiving information about the disappearance. The police visited the family’s residence and interviewed Abubakar’s son, Mizanmi, and his mother, Aisha.
During the investigation, Mizanmi confessed to using a hoe to kill his father because he had a grudge against him. He stated that he hacked his father to death with the hoe and then cut up his body into parts before hastily burying him in a shallow grave within their compound.
The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the incident and is currently conducting a preliminary investigation. The suspect will be transferred to the SCID in Minna for further investigation and prosecution.
