Asue Ighodalo, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has strongly denied allegations linking him to the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu. His media team released a statement on Monday refuting the claims and labeling them as false and malicious attempts to besmirch his character.
The statement clarified that Ighodalo had no involvement whatsoever in the impeachment process that led to Shaibu’s removal from office by the Edo State House of Assembly. It emphasized that the accusations were entirely baseless, and Ighodalo categorically denied any role in the affair.
The media team urged the public and the media to approach these allegations with skepticism, emphasizing that they were intended to distract from substantive issues and damage Ighodalo’s reputation unfairly.
