The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) took action by sealing off the foreign supermarket 4 U located in Wuse 2, Abuja, due to its engagement in obnoxious practices, concealment of information, and sale of substandard bags of rice.

During the sealing-off operation on Thursday, Adamu Abdullahi, the Acting Executive Vice Chairman of FCCPC, expressed strong disapproval of the situation, emphasizing its unacceptability. This action came as part of FCCPC’s campaign to enforce price display and ensure compliance with quantity regulations in supermarkets across the nation’s capital.

The initiative was prompted by concerns raised by consumers regarding the escalating prices of goods, despite the recent strengthening of the naira against major currencies. The FCCPC’s move underscores its commitment to safeguarding consumers’ rights and promoting fair competition in the marketplace.
