The Offa Descendants’ Union, ODU, under the able leadership of Alhaji Muideen Olaniyi Azeez-Salako, has felicitates with Alhaji Salami Kolawole Adepoju Wuraola from Enla’s compound,Offa on the occasion of his centenary birthday celebration.
He belongs to the first, four sets under the pioneer Principal, Mr Ajayi and also first set of professional Nurses from Offa, trained in Northern Nigeria School of Nursing in the 1950s and later at University of Benin before proceeding for further studies in Liverpool, United Kingdom in the 1960s.
Among his peers who are now late were Chief (Mrs) Ayobola Akinwande, Chief James Adebayo Shogo (1928-2023), Alhaji Rahaman Ogunrinu, Ms Janet Soleye, Mr Emmanuel Adebisi Adegbite (Late Justice) and even his wife, Alhaja Huseinat Taiwo Wuraola (1934-2019).
After his various posting across Northern Nigeria, he returned home to serve at General Hospital, Offa for eight years where he retired as Chief Nursing Officer in 1985.
As a community man to the core, he established his private practice named Wuraola Eye Clinic and Maternity in Offa and rendered various community service on account of his closeness to the Late Olofa of Offa, Oba Olawore Olanipekun Ariwajoye II.
