Offa Volleyball Club marked a momentous occasion on January 11, 2024, with a spectacular novelty match celebrating the investiture of Sir (Prince) Robert Olusoji Olagunju, KSG, as the Aremo (Crown Prince) of Offaland.
The match featured a thrilling face-off between Yeye Aremo Super Angeles and Olalomi Royal Volleyball Club in the female category, resulting in a triumphant 3-0 victory for Yeye Aremo Super Angeles. Simultaneously, Aremo Super Stars clashed with Ajase-Ippo Volleyball Club, securing another 3-0 win.
The match, powered and sponsored by Dr. Akeem Oyewale, CEO of Marble Capital Limited and Chairman of Offa Volleyball Club, showcased remarkable performances. Dr. Oyewale, on behalf of the volleyball team, expressed gratitude to Chief Abdullateef Tayo Shittu, the Aare Aniwura of Offa, for his promise to support the Offa Volleyball Club in the future. Chief Shittu also honoured the commitment with a generous pledge of N500,000 to the team and N200,000 to outstanding players Maryam Ayomide Usman and Aliya Usman, who each received N100,000.
Dr. Rauf Abiodun Oladipo, the National General Secretary of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU), contributed to the joyous occasion by presenting N50,000 each to the Usman sisters, bringing the total to N100,000.
Coach Suleiman Ajeigbe, popularly known as Coach Soba, extended heartfelt appreciation to both Chief Tayo Shittu and Dr. Abiodun Rafiu Oladipo, expressing gratitude for their support.
