…. Adopts New Constitution
The Offa Descendants Union (ODU) held its annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, where the national body filled vacant positions with new executives through bye-election
Dr. Abiodun Oladipo has assumed the role of the substantive General Secretary of ODU National, overseeing both local and international affairs. Notably, Mr. Tope Balogun transitioned from Assistant General Secretary 2 to Assistant General Secretary 1, creating a vacancy in AGS 2. This position was competitively filled during the AGM, with Pastor Gbenga Jacob Opatola emerging as the new AGS 2.
The elected executives also include Mr. Taofeek Olaosebikan (Kano branch) as the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abubakar Isah (Abuja branch) as the Financial Secretary, and Mr. Mustapha Ahmed Babatunde (Sokoto branch) as the Auditor. Pastor Opatola Gbenga Jacob (Oro/Esie branch) takes up the role of Assistant General Secretary 2.
Also at the AGM, the newly amended ODU Constitution was ratified by the AGM. This brings to an end, the long overdue ODU Constitution in use since 2014.
Hon. Seun Ogunniyi (Adato), the honorable representative of Ojomu/Balogun Constituency, graced the event with his presence, emphasizing the significance of the AGM in shaping the future direction of the Offa Descendants Union.
