Nigeria and her momentary ceremony of educational decadence. Not new; not surprising; not inadvertent as it’s what even the innocent jambites have added to their plan before hand.
The top political office holder had changed the face of education in this nation for their strategic political demo-game, unwitting to the masses. Only logical minded entities could envisage the logic in this demo-game that endures from one polical administration to the other.
Sadly, the lingering ASUU strike that had lasted for months and still counting, one of the barbaric drama that is unfolding lately has becoming even more dramatic as the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has reportedly joined today. It isn’t pathetically funny because I tasted almost a year of it while in school.
Shall we not come to terms that the Nigerian government are really ready to squander the tomorrow of this nation for a selfish and greed of today even when the education students que to attain is even inferior to what’s obtainable (substandard)?
How do we, as youth survive the consequences when we spend or had spent seven years studying a courses of four years? Is it justifiable when a student gain admission in Nigeria at 23, and graduate at 30-31, while prospective employer wants age bracket 25-27 with 3years of working experience? Does it not mean the government is marching our lives in the face for choosing education?
After several years of academic hurdles, the tertiary institutions producing sound graduate that can compete with international graduates in terms of knowledge? (Only few with divine talent to add up are exempted) how many mechanical engineers can fix there cars if it breaks down on the road….? Isn’t it cheat from the pit of hell for Nigerian students to study practical works oñ white boards and yet, some will call us an unemployable graduates afterwards? These and many more….
Yet, in few week margin, a political party is almost richer than the state as elites jostle to inherit the rot and economic downtrodden state that’s is bewildered by ghoulish social menace.
Perhaps, they sees this strike actions as a means to recruit touts for their political demo game even when the lives of the youths doesn’t even matters.
Hope.
Dear youths this old guys mean no good as they keeps tearing down your marrow to patch there’s. Sit and enjoy your indefinite holidays of your cognition won’t be questioned later come 2023. I submit.
