The Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun has donated food items and cash worth #5 Million (Five Million Naira) to his constituents as palliatives for fuel subsidy removal.
Rt. Hon. Egbedun also donated a car gift to Alhaja Bose Lawal, the State Assistant Organizing Secretary of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun who represents Odo Otin local government in the State Executive Council of the party.
Beneficiaries of the palliatives by the speaker are the vulnerable, physically challenged, widows, youths and aged persons who are selected residents of Odo Otin Local Government.
The food items that were distributed across the local government include 2000 bags of 1kg of Semovita and 3000 pieces of #300 worth of bread.
Addressing some of his constituents, Rt. Hon. Egbedun noted that he understood and felt the pains of the people during this critical period and pleaded that they should accept the token he has to give now with an assurance that it will be continuous from time to time.
He further stated that plans are in top gear to empower some youths in the Local Government in a programme he called “Teach Them How to Fish, Building the Society”.
Several constituents trooped out in their thousands to appreciate the Speaker while praying for his success in his endeavour.
