Review: “BETTER HALF”
A 25-Yr-old student falls in love with his teacher who is far older than he is.
He reaches out anonymously and gets her to fall in love with him, the mystery caller as he concealed his true identity.
He buys her a multimillion Naira car just because he didn’t like to see her use the Taxi. He gifts her an engagement ring worth 40, 000 dollars. 31 Million in Naira.
He didn’t even show up for his own traditional wedding with her. Dude sent his father to represent him.
She later finds out his true identity and naturally breaks it off the wedding, however, after all of the begging and Yen yen, she accepts him back as usual.
Who wouldn’t accept a handsome small and timid billionaire boy? Very easy to control.
I wasted 2 Hours, 300MB of my life trying to wrap my head around the poorly scripted, unrealistic plot, not to mention the lack of diversity.
The male lead’s energy was low budget and extensively passive, I can’t tell if he was too shy or just Too timid or just trying to annoy me with the snail behavior.
No panache. Zero swagger. Without his inherited wealth, he doesn’t seem to have what it takes to sweep a woman of her caliber off her feet.
Besides his fine boy power, everything else was poor acting. His slowness practically killed the energy in the movie.
For a romantic story, it was too slow and moody except for the aesthetics and too much money nothing depicts love existentially.
I would’ve loved to see more activity within the school premises not just a boring classroom filled with uninterested students and No actual lecturing.
Uche Montana killed it as usual but was overshadowed by the unrealistic plot in the movie.
The entire movie was based on superficial wishful thinking that could never have happened in any indigenous african society.
How can we confirm the validity of her love for him? He practically showered her with so much luxury, she didn’t have any chance to fall in love with values or substance.
Tell me, who wouldn’t fall in love with a billionaire fine boy with snail energy? Lol
Why do Nigerian movies always make it a habit to display lavish wealth in order to express love? Can’t we have a love story without headlining luxury?
Nigerian w||men will definitely love this movie because it elevates lavish and promotes men spending on a w||man.
Some of these producers keep dragging us back to the Stone Age with their unrealistic plots that will only reduce one’s IQ.
