Bintinlaye, in a statement on Wednesday, said Muslims should consider the new 1445 Hijrah as a new opportunity to showcase Islamic tenets and promote peaceful co-existence.
“Indeed, the new calendar presents another moment to reflect on Islamic lessons and inculcate the ideal Islamic behavioral approach.
“The Islamic calendar, with its unique lunar-based system, holds a special place for Muslims around the world. This new year in the Hijri calendar signifies the beginning of Muharram, an important month for reflection and remembrance,” he said.
