Honourable Bukoye Marooph Bintinlaye, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the Supreme Court of Nigeria. The apex court affirmed Adeleke as the governor of Osun State.
In a landmark judgment delivered on Tuesday, a five-member panel of the Supreme Court held that the Court of Appeal correctly reinstated Adeleke as governor. This decision brought to an end a long legal battle over the governorship of Osun State.
Honourable Bintinlaye praised the judgment of the Supreme Court, stating that it was a victory for democracy and the rule of law. He commended Senator Adeleke for his resilience and determination to pursue justice to its logical conclusion.
He also thanked the people of Osun State and men and women of goodwill for standing firmly to protect their mandate.
According to Honourable Bintinlaye, “Senator Adeleke’s victory at the Supreme Court is not only a win for him and the Peoples Democratic Party, but it is also a victory for the people of Osun State who voted for him as their governor. This judgment has affirmed their choice and their mandate.”
He further stated, “I congratulate Senator Adeleke on this well-deserved victory and urge him to continue to work for the good of the people of Osun State. I also call on all stakeholders to come together and support his administration in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
“It is not over yet, our great party PDP has another landslide mandate to reclaim. As we have found solace in the Nigerian judicial system, it will be our refuge as our party will reclaim our mandate at presidential election tribunal.
As Waziri Abubakar said, “it is not yet uhuru as we still have one more major mandate to reclaim, and together as ONE, we shall accomplish the task for the good of our country and its people.”
Honourable Bintinlaye expressed confidence that with Senator Adeleke at the helm of affairs in Osun State, the state would witness rapid development and progress in all sectors.
