The Offa Descendant Union (ODU), under the leadership of Alhaji Olaniyi Muideen Azeez Salako, has felicitated the Bashorun of Offa and Makama Gusau, Comrade Alhaji Dr. Najimdeen Usman Yasin, on his birthday, described him as a powerful voice and representative of the Offa community.
Alhaji Salako said the history of the ODU as well as the trade union movement in Nigeria, cannot be complete without remembering the exploits and contributions of Yasin.”
In a congratulatory message by the Union’s National Social Secretary and Ag NPRO, Idowu Muhydeen Oladipo, Alhaji Salako said Makama Gusau has proven to be one Offa-made committed Nigerians who continues to work tirelessly in moving his community, State, and the country forward.
Yasin, a former ODU National President, is a past National President of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and is currently, a Deputy National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The message reads in part: “The month of April, especially the 15th day, reminds us at ODU of the robust and vibrant leadership of Alhaji Yasin during his tenure as ODU National President. His past legacies and continuing philanthropist gestures still endure with us.”
Alh Salako said that Dr. Yasin had truly sacrificed for the Union and Offa town in many ways, adding that Alhaji Yasin has recently released part of his office, in Offa, to the Federal Fire Service to be used as a temporary office.
“This has shown that Alhaji Yasin is a great leader who continues to demonstrate his love for ODU and the people of Offa. On behalf of the ODU National Executive and the people of Offa, I wish you a happy birthday and pray for more glorious and fruitful years ahead.
“Congratulations, sir.”
