A foremost and political non-partisan in Ijesa land under the aegis of Egbe Atunluse Ile Ijesa has congratulated Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke on the recent victory at the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja.
This was contained in a signed statement on Saturday by Professors Adeniyi Olu Obi, Yemi Kayode-Adedeji, Lawrence K. Jeje and Adebayo L. on behalf of the Society.
The Egbe also charged Governor Adeleke to address the “inexplicable delay” in the commencement of academic activities in the University of Ilesa.
“The Egbe wishes to bring to your Excellency’s attention the demoralization inflicted on the Ijesas following the truncation of the project by steps taken by your Excellency’s government in preventing the realization of the dream by allowing commencement of academic activities in the properly established University of Ilesa. This is because we are aware that the University has been duly approved by all appropriate authorities after due diligence on all requirements for the take-off of the University.
“We are constrained to adopt intoto the letter dated 20 February, 2023 addressed to your Excellency by Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, the Asiwaju of Ijesa land and we will not repeat issues raised by the respected Asiwaju.
“Suffice it to add that the Egbe is distressed and saddened by what appears to be an inexplicable delay in the commencement of academic activities in the University.
“The Egbe awaits with bated breath the White Paper on the report of Ad-hoc Committee on University of Ilesa, which your Excellency promised us in the recent broadcast to mark your Excellency’s 100 days in office.”
The Egbe Atunluse Ile Ijesa thereafter wishes Governor Ademola Adeleke’s government the best in all its endeavours.
