The Kano State government has imposed dawn to dusk curfew with a view to avoid breakdown of law and order following tensions generated from the collation of results of the governorship and state Assembly elections.
The declaration was revealed in a statement released early on Monday by the state commissioner for internal affairs and information, Malam Muhammad Garba.
He claimed the choice was made to avoid hoodlums escalating the delicate situation by generating disruption.
The state’s commissioner issued a warning to its citizens to stay indoors because security personnel would not hesitate to target any individual or organization determined to stir up disturbance.
