Makama of Lafiagi, Alhaji Tajudeen Audu, has formally renounced his membership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kwara State.
Audu defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), directing massive support for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and all other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The Makama was one of the leading gubernatorial aspirants in the SDP at the primary election.
His defection to APC was aftermath of various political meetings between him and his followers across Kwara State.
He announced his defection on Monday evening, few days to the gubernatorial and house of assembly elections.
The politician’s formal defection did not come as a surprise considering the roles he played in the last election wherein he mobilized his supporters to vote for Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu of the APC.
