The National Director Contact and Mobilization for Atiku Care Foundation (ACF), Honourable Bukoye Marooph Bintinlaye has said that it is comical that some political elements would aspire to pull down the exalted personality of former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
It would be recalled that the media were a washed with a publication by a faceless group under the aegis of The Ilorin Project Advancement Initiative (IPAI) accusing Saraki of destabilizing the traditional status quo of the Ilorin Emirate.
The publication was purportedly signed by one Barrister Sulaiman Ibrahim who was described as national secretary.
In his reaction, Bintinlaye described Saraki as one of the leaders shining the Emirate’s light at the moment, hence incapable of destroying the same Emirate.
“Does it make sense to alter, undermine, or demolish the foundation upon which one has built themselves? How would anyone say Waziri (prime Minister) of an emirate would destroy his own emirate? This is the same Emirate he served as the Turaki before his elevation to Waziri. We understand that it is political time but that should not erode us of common sense.
“The throne of Sheikh Alimi, being sit on by Mai Martaba, HRH, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin should not be politicized, disrespected or disregarded.
“Senator Bukola Saraki has been everywhere in the world preaching Ilorin gospels. He is Ilorin and Ilorin is he.
“Saraki has been respecting and upholding the sanctity of traditional institutions in highest of regard. Not only Ilorin Emirate but all traditional stools in Kwara and beyond.
“These hirelings and campaigners of calumnies need to be prosecuted. This is yet another reprehensible Machiavellian scheme to alienate the state’s numerous ethnic communities. Kwara is called state of Harmony because it harmonizes different people of diverse cultures and tongues.
“This is another provocative propaganda to drag our leader, Dr. Bukola Saraki into cheap propaganda. We know where this is from. It is as obvious as the mene, mene, tekel, upharsin, the ancient writings on the wall. We however would not be dragged or distracted.
“We shall continue our issue based campaigns to recover Kwarans from the shackles of ill governance and, indeed, Nigeria as a whole,” Bintinlaye concluded.
