The embattled Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency Representative under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Tijani Ismail, has said that Offa people of Offa local government area of Kwara State usually beg him to give them money to execute projects.
Tijani, who is recently under ICPC investigation over empowerment scandal, said this in a telephone conversation with one of his close allies, who was pleading for a tranformer on behalf of Oke odo, a community in Erin-Ile, Oyun LGA.
Hon Tijani said nobody should ask him for tranformer because his primary assignment as a lawmaker is not to provide tranformer for any community and that he’s not under obligation to get tranformer for people.
He said Oke odo people should forget about getting transformer from him, asked them to contact influential and wealthy people within their community first before coming to him.
He said Offa people are used to beg him for money and he cited an instance he assisted them with a sum of #200,000 to purchase a transformer in Amuyo area.
He also descended on Erinle, describing people of Erinle as mean and unseruous for their failure to accord him due respect as a house of Rep member.
Explaining further, he said people of Erinle are mean, they are not serious , they have rich people and they won’t task them, they will be running after him.
“Offa people use to beg me for money. I do tell them to go and contribute first, then call me after. Even your Kabiyesi (Elerin of Erin-Ile) cannot call me for transformer when he knows there are people like Chief Ibiyemi and others civil servants in Oke Odo.
“Do you know that you Erin-Ile people are very mean? That is why when they talk, I don’t even answer them. You people in Erin-Ile need to learn politics. look at Osilo, he will pray for me every morning. The only time he begged for money is when I paid his son WAEC fees.
“Erin people have serious problems. many of you don’t look at wider and bigger benefits in the future, you always look for instantaneous benefits. Imagine them telling me to bring money for people to come and meet me whenever I come to Erin, how will you take Erin-Ile people serious?
“Look at Offa people, there was a day I told them I don’t want to see anybody, that I just came to work. But they begged me, they said what will you give us your children in Offa? What are we going to be eating till you come back?, I know all of them very well. I know Ezekiel (Oba Ezekiel, Alaafin Kwara), I know Mujando. Even there’s one I helped paid for his father’s land which he sold, his name is Aku, he has now defected to PDP.
“In Erin-Ile today, it will be difficult for anyone to claim he’s richer than I am today.”
