On Wednesday, Super Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi was named the man of the match following Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win against Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
Awoniyi received the honor a second time after being named the best player in Forest’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on New Year’s Day.
The international player from Nigeria gave Steve Cooper’s team its first victory away from home this year with the game-winning strike.
Brennan Johnson (22%), Renan Lodi (21%), and Joe Worrall (12%) finished in second, third, and fourth place, respectively, behind the 25-year-old who received 45% of the votes.
Awoniyi scored the game-winning goal in three of Nottingham Forest’s four Premier League victories thus far this season, which have all been 1-0 victories.
Awoniyi has so far scored four goals in 16 league appearances for Nottingham Forest this season.
