Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has retaliated against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for threatening to eject the G-5 Governors, the five disgruntled governors of the party.
Wike said this during a live broadcast on Channels TV of the Saturday road project flag-off in Ekpeye, Ahoada East River State, which Daily Post was watching.
He further asserted that people who disagreed with him were envious of the authority of the G-5 governors.
Wike said the G-5 governors hope that those who will betray their brothers will not rule Nigeria in response to a PDP statement that only God will decide the victor of the upcoming presidential election.
“For those who made those remarks, understand our background. We are here today because of God. Nobody can breathe air if not God not to talk about Political positions. Our prayer is that ‘God doesn’t allow those that will sell Nigeria in the next second to govern us. Our prayer is that God won’t allow anybody that will have an agreement with you, and in the next two minutes, the person will change, to Govern Nigeria; our prayer is that God will not allow those who will betray their brothers when they have agreed to do something.
“All the Jealousy you see is because we have Capacity; it is not to talk; I came in from London yesterday from Airport. I went to the flag-off. Did we say let us go home and rest? Today again, we are here. If they have the Capacity, let them go to one of their campaigns and return to the flag-off project just as we are doing. As we speak, I write down their names, those eager to commission my Projects. From now till the 29th of May, we will be busy commissioning and flagging off projects”.
DAILY POST gathered that for months now, it has been a war of words between the G-5 Governors, the Presidential Candidate of PDP, Abubakar Atiku, the Party’s leadership and the campaign team.
The G-5 governors are Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu states.
