One person died in the crash on Thursday, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
The multiple collision at the Cele bus stop inside of Mile 2 resulted in four further injuries.
Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of LASEMA, gave an update in a statement.
A MACK truck carrying two 20-foot containers was involved in the accident; its registration number is unclear.
A Toyota RAV4, a Highlander SUV, and a Volkswagen bus were also there.
Oke-Osanyintolu claimed that the truck driver lost control and hit the cars in front of it.
“An adult male, the bus driver, lost his life while four injured victims – three males and one female – have been transported to hospital,” he said.
The official confirmed that the body of the deceased was handed over to the relatives.
The crash caused gridlock along the axis as emergency responders and passersby collaborated to clear the scene.
