Insecurity: Saraki Sends Delegation to Bandit-Hit Communities in Kwara South

Former Senate President and ex-Governor of Kwara State, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has sent a high-powered delegation to communities affected by bandit attacks in Ifelodun Local Government Area to sympathise with victims and traditional rulers.

The delegation, drawn from the Peoples Democratic Party, visited 19 communities in Kwara South Senatorial District that have suffered repeated attacks and displacement of residents.

Among the communities visited were Agbeku, Bayagan-Ile, Afin-Ileere, Sagbe, Labaka Oja, Oroago, Adanla, Owa Kajola, Oreke Oke-Igbo, Oreke, Alabe, Bankole, Budo-Idowu, Ologomo, Ganmu Alheri-Ilere, Aiyetoro, Alabe Idera and Oloruntele.

Speaking during the visit, the leader of the delegation and Kwara PDP State Treasurer, Reverend COS Fawenu, said the outreach was part of Saraki’s fourth phase of interventions since 2025 to support communities affected by insecurity.

The delegation visited palaces and families of affected monarchs, offered prayers for peace, and provided financial assistance, including support to the Oba of Agbeku, the family of the abducted Oniwo of Afin, and the Ojibara of Bayagan-Ile who was recently released.

Community leaders and residents thanked Saraki for the gesture, describing it as compassionate leadership, while praying for him and calling for lasting peace across the affected areas.
