Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Switzerland ahead of the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), scheduled to hold from January 19 to 23, 2026.
Shettima arrived from Conakry, Guinea, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya on Saturday.
He was received on arrival by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole; and officials of the Nigerian Mission in Switzerland.
Nigeria’s participation at the 2026 WEF is expected to mark a significant moment in the country’s global economic engagement with the official debut of “Nigeria House Davos.” For the first time, the Federal Government has established a dedicated sovereign pavilion on the Davos Promenade, aimed at projecting Nigeria’s investment narrative to a global audience.
Speaking to journalists shortly after arrival, Oduwole said Nigeria would make a robust presentation of its investment opportunities at the launch of Nigeria House, with a strong focus on the economic reforms being pursued by the Tinubu administration.
According to her, the country would showcase four key playbooks outlining efforts to re-engineer the Nigerian economy.
“We will be presenting our solid minerals sector, climate sustainability agenda, agriculture, as well as the creative and digital sectors to investors from all over the world,” she said.
