The Offa Comrade Community (OCC) has stepped in to bridge the widening gap between the Offa Descendants Union (ODU), the Palace and the Strategic Retreat Committee through its Adhoc Reconciliation Committee.
This followed a high-level meeting held on December 29, 2025, between the leadership of the OCC and the National General Secretary of the ODU, Dr. Alhaji (Otunba) Rauf Abiodun Oladipo, at the ODU National Secretariat, Offa Descendants Union Hall.
The meeting, which focused on community growth, youth welfare and institutional harmony, was aimed at addressing recent misunderstandings within key community structures and charting a sustainable path for peace, cooperation and development in Offa.
Representing the Offa Comrade Community at the meeting were Adekola Mubarak Tadenikawo, Halimat Olamide Ibrahim, Abubakar Abdulsalam Agbaje and Muftau Damilola Nafisat.
Dr. Oladipo commended the OCC for its consistent commitment to community development and described the group as a vital stakeholder in Offa’s socio-civic space.
He encouraged the community to function as a “think-tank” and a volunteer support force for ODU-led initiatives, stressing that inclusive participation remains critical to Offa’s long-term growth.
He also disclosed that the ODU has already initiated several reconciliation steps to strengthen its relationship with the Palace, noting that dialogue, mutual respect for traditional authority and deliberate confidence-building efforts are ongoing to ensure lasting unity.
According to him, the survival of Offa’s cultural heritage and the progress of its people depend largely on cooperation among its institutions and community-based organisations.
The ODU scribe further charged the OCC to maintain neutrality in its engagements and to continue playing the role of bridge-builders among all parties, urging them to prioritise peace, collective responsibility and community interest above personal or sectional considerations.
The meeting ended on a note of shared commitment, as both sides reaffirmed their resolve to work together in promoting unity, preserving cultural values and driving inclusive development in Offa.
