His Royal Highness, Oba Abdulfatai Abdulkareem Monranro Atobatele I, has emerged the Alaho of Ahogbada, Oyun LG, Kwara State.
Congratulating the monarch, the Executive Chairman of Oyun Local Government, Hon. (Chief) Akanbi Kamar Olarewaju through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Owodunni Kunle Rasheed described the appointment as well deserved and reflective of the community’s rich cultural heritage and well-structured traditional institution.
Hon. Akanbi expressed optimism that the reign of Oba Atobatele I would usher in an era of peace, unity, and sustainable development in Ahogbada and its environs.
According to him, the emergence of the new Alaho underscores the resilience of the traditional system in Kwara State, which continues to promote order, continuity, and communal harmony at the grassroots.
The council boss also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the respect, recognition, and consistent support his administration accords traditional rulers across the state.
He said the gestures have strengthened grassroots governance and deepened community participation in development.
He further praised the Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, for complementing the governor’s efforts through effective service delivery and transparent handling of chieftaincy matters.
Hon. Akanbi urged the newly appointed monarch to work closely with the Oyun Traditional Council and other relevant stakeholders to promote peaceful coexistence, enhance grassroots security, and drive meaningful development across communities within the local government.
He concluded by wishing Oba Abdulfatai Abdulkareem Monranro Atobatele I a peaceful, prosperous, and impactful reign, expressing confidence that the new Alaho would live up to the expectations of his people and the revered stool he now occupies.
It would be recalled that late traditional ruler of Ahogbada, Oba Jubril Abolaji Maranro died in July 2025.
