The Executive Director of Administration and Human Resources at the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Hajia Bilqis Jumoke Sanni, PS (Rtd) felicitates Hon. Ayo Hulayat Omidiran on her successful swearing-in as the Executive Chairperson of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on yesterday, Thursday, January 22, 2026.
This was contained in a statement personally signed on Friday.
Sanni stated that Omidiran, popularly known as Mama SWAGA, is “a boss, a friend, and a sister in whom I am well pleased.”
She added that her emergence as FCC Chairperson is a well-deserved recognition of years of loyalty, resilience, and outstanding public service.
Sanni recalled that Omidiran, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives who represented Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency of Osun State from 2011 to 2019, has consistently demonstrated leadership, discipline, and commitment across politics, governance, and sports administration.
“She has a rare sportsmanship spirit, perhaps shaped by her deep-rooted passion for football and youth development,” Sanni said.
She also referenced Omidiran’s role as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, her founding of Omidiran Babes FC, and her engagements with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and FIFA.
The NCDC Director further highlighted Omidiran’s immense contribution to grassroots political mobilisation, particularly during the last general election, where she traversed the South-West, North-Central, South-South, and South-East, championing the campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with uncommon energy.
“She is not only passionate about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; she is deeply committed to the ideals and growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Sanni noted.
She continued that Omidiran’s pivotal role in the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) movement inspired the now-popular campaign anthem, ‘On Your Mandate We Shall Stand, Bola…’, which became a rallying cry for party supporters nationwide.
According to Sanni, Omidiran’s appointment and subsequent swearing-in as FCC Chairperson reflect her proactive mindset, tireless dedication, and inclusive leadership style.
“This appointment is a clear reward for hard work, loyalty, competence, and capacity. It is personally encouraging and inspiring to many of us in public service,” she said.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had appointed Omidiran as FCC Chairperson in August 2025, with her nomination confirmed by the Senate in November 2025.
Sanni wished the FCC Chairperson a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that Omidiran would strengthen fairness, equity, and national cohesion in line with the Commission’s mandate.
