Hon. Mazi Ugochukwu Innocent Obi has described the Labour Party’s recent victory at the Federal High Court in Abuja as a decisive end to the party’s lingering leadership crisis.
He stated this while reacting to the judgment delivered on Thursday.
Obi, who is popularly known as Ugo Umunneoch said the court ruling has firmly re-established order and legitimacy within the party.
He added that the judgement has clearly demonstrates that the Labour Party “has come to stay” as a formidable political force in Nigeria.
He urged the National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, to seize the moment to rebuild unity across all levels of the party.
He continued that internal cohesion is critical to securing electoral victories ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“This victory is not just a legal win; it is a moral and political boost for the Labour Party. The leadership should now focus on uniting members nationwide and strengthening party structures to consolidate future successes,” Obi said.
The Labour Party chieftain also commended the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, for his steadfastness and loyalty to the party throughout the period of internal challenges.
He described Governor Otti as a reliable and consistent leader who stood firm despite political pressures.
Obi further praised the Abia State governor for his commitment to massive infrastructural development across the state, noting that his focus on governance remains exemplary.
He particularly thanked Governor Otti for his dedication to the Labour Party during its difficult moments.
He said the Governor is “a man whose attitude and leadership style are worthy of emulation.”
Hon. Obi assured the governor of the total support of the Umunneoch people for his administration, expressing confidence that his leadership would continue to deliver good governance and strengthen the party’s standing both in Abia State and nationally.
