The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu, alleging that United States President Donald Trump is scheming to undermine his administration and ultimately push him out of office.
In a statement released on Saturday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric claimed that President Tinubu had been politically “caged” by the US leader, insisting that Washington’s engagement with Nigeria, particularly in the area of security cooperation, was driven by ulterior motives.
Ayodele argued that America’s show of support in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity was not necessarily aimed at resolving the crisis but at gaining deeper access to the country’s political structure.
According to him, the US President is determined to see Tinubu removed from power, even if such intentions are not immediately obvious to the Nigerian leader.
He maintained that insecurity would persist in the country regardless of foreign involvement, stressing that Trump’s focus, as revealed to him, was not the restoration of peace but the pursuit of a broader political agenda targeted at the presidency.
The outspoken cleric urged President Tinubu to act decisively and adopt far-reaching political strategies to counter what he described as a looming external threat to his government.
Ayodele warned that failure to take bold and calculated steps could leave the President vulnerable, adding that Tinubu’s political setback, if it occurred, would be openly celebrated by his opponents.
He, therefore, called on the President not to relent but to reposition himself strategically to avert what he portrayed as a carefully laid plan against his leadership.
