Activities marking the 75th anniversary, annual day and awards presentation of the Offa Students’ Union (OSU) National Headquarters gathered momentum on Monday as the union concluded its first day programme with a novelty football match at the Zeems Sports Arena, Offa.
The match, which pitched stakeholders against students, ended in a 4–1 victory for the stakeholders, drawing a lively crowd and rounding off a day dedicated to community engagement and social responsibility.
Speaking after the game, the National President of the union, Comrade Mustapha Taiye Abdulbasit, expressed appreciation to stakeholders and members of the public who graced the event.
He also acknowledged Comrade Salahudeen Lukman, popularly known as Eluku Omo Adugbo, for sponsoring vests donated to the union.
The novelty match capped the first day of the three-day anniversary programme, which had earlier featured a community service exercise and a charity visit to an orphanage in Offa.
Organisers reiterated that the second day of the celebration will be devoted to a legislative summit, while the final day will centre on a themed programme, Rekindling the spirit of student unionism for unity, innovation and community development towards a greater Offa and a more impactful students’ future.
The concluding event is scheduled to be held on December 24, 2025, at the OSU Secretariat, behind the Offa Traditional Council, with proceedings expected to commence at 10am.
