The Peoples Democratic Party has activated its internal review machinery ahead of next year’s governorship contest in Osun State, with the National Working Committee establishing an appeal panel to address grievances arising from the party’s primary election processes.

In a notice issued by the National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, the party announced that acting National Chairman, Kabiru Turaki, will chair the panel, with former Deputy National Chairman, Taofeek Arapaja, serving as secretary. Twenty-two other members were also named, underscoring the party’s determination to maintain cohesion as preparations intensify for the 2026 poll.

According to the notice, the appeal sitting is scheduled for Thursday, 11 December, at the Bauchi Governor’s Lodge, Tatari Ali House, Asokoro District, Abuja. The panel is expected to review complaints triggered by the conduct of the primary election and make recommendations intended to knit together frayed edges before the campaign season fully unfolds.

Other members of the panel include Daniel Ambrose Woyengikuro, Hamza Akuyan Koshe, Ihediwa Richard Nnabugwu, Isa Abubakar, Okechukwu Obiechina Daniel, and Shan himself. Also listed are Ini Ememobong, Aribisala Adewale Idowu, Bara’u Shafi’i, Ogbu Anthonia Chinenyenwa, Emmanuel Ogidi, Kamorudeen Toyese Ajisafe, Bello Hayatu Gwarzo, and Francis Orogu.

Additional members are Ali Obasi Odefa, Umar Babangida, Obasi Elebe, Mark Dogara Ogbole, Nuhu Bajoga, Sharrif Abdullahi, Ojo Michael Oke and Onyia Ejiofor. Emmanuel Ekpe and Suleiman Usman will serve as administrative secretaries.

Shan stressed that the panel’s work must adhere strictly to the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2025), alongside the party’s electoral guidelines and the Electoral Act 2022. Party insiders say the move signals an effort to avoid rancour and ensure a level playing field as the PDP angles to reclaim control of the Osun Government House.
