The Offa Local Government Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Laaro Omituntun has unveiled a community-based security initiative, Alale Offa.

This took at the Offa LG Secretariat yesterday, 30th of December, 2025.

He also presented 20 operational motorcycles to the newly recruited operatives to enhance grassroots security across the council area.

The development was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the chairman, Comrade Azeez Babatunde Abiola (Adigun).

He said the initiative was part of Hon Sulaiman Olatunji Laaro Omituntun’s broader strategy to keep Offa safe, secure and peaceful.

He added that another batch of recruits would be unveiled soon to further reinforce security operations in the area.

Adigun said, “a total of 100 personnel were inaugurated as the first batch of the security outfit, with assurances that additional batches would be recruited to further strengthen the coverage and effectiveness of the initiative.

“Omituntun said the establishment of Alale Offa was part of his administration’s proactive measures to guarantee the safety of lives and property in Offa, while complementing existing security agencies.

“In our continuous resolve to guarantee the safety of lives and property, I formally unveiled a community-based security initiative tagged Alale Offa, which a bold step that reaffirms our commitment to taking primary responsibility for grassroots security across Offa Local Government,” he said.

He added that the initiative aligned with the broader security vision of the Kwara State Government, noting that peace and stability were fundamental to sustainable socio-economic development.

Omituntun commended the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), for his commitment to strengthening the state’s security architecture and for supporting community-driven security initiatives.

He also inspected a guard of honour mounted by the operatives of the newly inaugurated Kwara State Security Initiative, Offa Command, popularly known as Alale Offa.

The Divisional Police Officer, Offa Division, CSP Omoruyi Nwagboe charged the operatives to discharge their duties with diligence and professionalism, urging them to strictly adhere to approved operational guidelines and remain within their scope of operations.

He praised Governor AbdulRazaq for his continuous support for grassroots security programmes and lauded the council chairman for prioritising the safety and security of the people of Offa.

According to Comrade Adigun, Omituntun said presentation of 20 motorcycles would boost mobility, enhance response time and ensure effective patrol across communities.

He prayed that Alale Offa would guide, guard and strengthen the operatives in the faithful delivery of their mandate.
