Jake Paul Hospitalised After Loss To Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul was taken to hospital in the early hours of Sunday after sustaining a suspected fractured jaw in his six-round defeat to former world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, in Miami.

The 28-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer showed resolve and ambition against the much bigger Joshua but was ultimately undone by the Briton’s physical advantage and punching power in a contest that underlined the gulf between celebrity boxing bravado and elite heavyweight pedigree.

Paul later disclosed that he feared his jaw had been broken during the bout, a concern that was subsequently confirmed by his promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, who said the American would undergo further medical checks. According to him, recovery is expected to take between four and six weeks.

Despite the painful setback, Paul struck an upbeat note in his post-fight comments, insisting his passion for the sport remains intact.

“I feel good. It was fun, and I genuinely love this sport,” he said, even as he shared graphic images and videos on social media showing the bruising and swelling he sustained in the ring.

The former cruiserweight contender maintained that the defeat had not derailed his long-term ambitions, revealing plans to rest briefly before resuming his career with renewed focus.

“We’ll heal the jaw, come back stronger and fight opponents in my weight class. Anthony Joshua is a great champion. I lost, but that’s part of boxing. I’ll return and keep pushing forward,” Paul said.

Reflecting on the fight, Paul admitted that fatigue played a decisive role, noting that coping with Joshua’s size and strength proved demanding over the rounds.

“I got tired trying to manage his size and weight. With better conditioning, I think I could have lasted longer. I gave it everything I had,” he added.
