Former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun State, Prof. Abdulganiy Raji, is dead.
Raji, a professor at the University of Ibadan, hailed from Ogbomoso in Oyo State and was widely regarded as a seasoned academic and public servant who brought intellectual depth to electoral administration during his tenure.
His death was announced on Friday evening by the University of Ibadan Muslim Community, where he was described as a dependable pillar and a respected voice within the fold.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Chief Imam, the Muslim community expressed deep sorrow over the loss, noting that the late professor remained committed to religious and community service until his final days.
The statement added that Raji would be laid to rest in his hometown of Ogbomoso, with funeral prayers scheduled for Saturday.
According to the announcement, members of the University of Ibadan Muslim Community will depart the campus as early as 6.30am to attend the burial rites.
