The Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union (FIBSU), under the leadership of its President, Aare Giwa Kamorudeen Olawale, has congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde, on the occasion of his birthday, describing his administration as student-friendly and development-driven.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of Ibadan students, the union said Governor Makinde’s leadership has continued to demonstrate a rare blend of vision, stability and inclusiveness, which has positively impacted governance in the state.
FIBSU noted that the governor’s commitment to infrastructural development, education reform and youth empowerment has created an enabling environment for learning and socio-economic advancement, particularly for students and young people across Oyo State.
According to the union, Makinde’s consistent investment in road infrastructure, security and social services has enhanced mobility, safety and overall quality of life, while his education policies have reinforced the strategic importance of human capital development.
The students’ body also commended the governor for his open-door approach to governance and his responsiveness to the aspirations of youths, describing him as a leader who recognises students as critical stakeholders in the state’s development architecture.
“As students, we acknowledge the governor’s belief in inclusive governance and his readiness to engage young people constructively. This approach has strengthened trust and fostered a sense of belonging among students,” the statement said.
As he marks another year, FIBSU prayed for renewed strength, sound health and wisdom for the governor, expressing optimism that his administration will continue to deliver sustainable development and long-term value for the people of Oyo State.
The union wished Governor Makinde a happy birthday and many more years of purposeful leadership in service to the state and Nigeria at large.
