CITATION OF CHIEF (MRS) SHAKIRAT LAWAL NEE BAMMEKE
Mrs. Shakirat Lawal was born in January 1972 to the late Alhaji Amuzat Babalola Bammeke of lle Ogala Oba, Offa, and the late Chief Mrs. Wulemot Bammeke of Shawo Olarenwaju Compound.
Chief (Mrs.) Wulemot Bammeke was the former Otun lya Abiye of Offa before her passing.
She began her career at Kaduna Nursing School, later worked in Ilorin at Olomo Wewe, Offa Health Center, and Alaro Medical Center at St. Cyprian. In 1972, she opened her own Omolere Maternity Nursing Home.
That same year, to celebrate Mrs. Shakirat Lawal’s birth, her parents held a grand naming ceremony, including a cocktail party at night. Chief Mrs. Wulemot Bammeke lived a successful and impactful life before retiring and closing her maternity home, May Allah grant both her and Alhaji Amuzat Babalola Bammeke Aljannah Firdaus Ameen.
Mrs. Shakirat Lawal attended Adeola Model School and later Offa Grammar School, where she completed her secondary education.
She participated in inter-house sports example of such activities were matching, long jump, and representing her house in the Miss olofa beauty event, and her vibrant social life led to her becoming the social director of her graduating set, making her one of the executive members,
Early in her secondary school years, as the first child of Alhaji Amuzat Babalola Bammeke to complete Quranic education, she celebrated her Walimat ceremony at Baba Ala Kigbasa. May Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus, Ameen.
After Offa Grammar School, Mrs. Shakirat Lawal attended the School of Nursing and Midwifery in llorin, graduating in 1994 with the esteemed Set 44, known as “Great 44,” a brilliant and powerful cohort with a 99% pass rate.
Inspired by her mother’s nursing profession, she immediately began working with her mother at Omolere Maternity Nursing Home.
Together, they reopened an annex in a community, which Mrs. Shakirat managed alongside the main facility in Offa. She would resume work at Offa before opening an annex in another location and transfer cases as needed.
She served her mother for many years, engaging in humanitarian work and saving numerous lives before registering her own clinic, Omolere Clinic and Maternity, as her mother insisted she continue her legacy.
In 1994, Mrs. Shakirat Lawal marmed Mr. Raheem Bola Lawal in an elaborate engagement and wedding ceremony, with Professor Jamiu Mobolaji Oyawoye signing their marriage certificate. May Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus, Ameen.
The couple is blessed with children and has spent their lives and careers together at Adesoye College, where Chief Emanuel Olatunji Adesoye, the former Asiwaju of Offa, was like a father to them.

In addition to her nursing profession, Mrs. Shakirat Lawal has a passion for business, successfully managing both her clinic and business ventures for years. This led her to travel to various African countries, including Ghana, Togo, and Cotonou.
She joined NASFAT at its inception in Offa and attended some FOMWAN programs, Influenced by her mother, who was a strong pillar and former president of FOMWAN.
Mrs. Shakirat Lawal has faced many challenges in life and credits Almighty Allah for sparing her life to this day.
