The Borno State Government has announced the postponement of the presentation of its 2026 budget to the State House of Assembly, initially slated for Monday, December 15.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar, who cited unforeseen circumstances as the reason for the delay.
“This is to inform the general public that the presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the Borno State House of Assembly by the Executive Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum CON, mni, FNSE, earlier scheduled for Monday, 15 December 2025, is hereby postponed due to unforeseen circumstances,” the statement read.
The government added that a new date for the budget presentation would be communicated in due course.
