Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants Afrobeat sensation Asake to perform at his wedding.
The Starboy made the revelation during a recent appearance on Apple Music Radio, alongside DJ Tunez, where he expressed his admiration for Asake’s music.
Wizkid explained that Asake’s hit song Omo Ope instantly made him a fan, but it is Remember that he would love to hear live at his wedding.
“You [Asake] are amazing. You have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I’ve told you that a million times, and I’m saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music,” Wizkid said.
The singer described Asake as one of the most talented vocalists not only in Africa but globally, adding that his music continues to inspire fans and fellow artists alike.
Currently, Wizkid is in a relationship with his manager and third baby mama, Japa P. The couple share three children—two boys and a girl. Despite keeping his wedding plans under wraps for years, the Starboy has been teasing fans about the upcoming celebration.
