2Baba’s UK Arrest Confirmed After Airport Bust-Up With Pregnant Wife

A fresh layer of controversy has trailed Nigerian music icon, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, after his former manager, Kaka Igbokwe, confirmed that the singer was arrested in the United Kingdom following a heated confrontation with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru.

The incident, which occurred shortly after the couple arrived in London for a concert tour, has stirred renewed debate across social media, especially after a video of the arrest surfaced online earlier this week.

Sources said the award-winning artiste had travelled to the UK ahead of a scheduled performance on 2 October, which he later failed to attend. His absence fuelled rumours that he had been detained over a disagreement with Natasha, who also serves as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Kaka, the son of the late music legend Christy Essien-Igbokwe, provided clarity while speaking during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze on Monday evening. He disclosed that the altercation stemmed from a misunderstanding shortly after landing at the airport.

According to him, tensions flared when Natasha felt her husband had abandoned her as he walked away with enthusiastic fans who had received him on arrival. “Everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true,” he said, noting that 2Baba returned immediately after realising she had been left behind.

Natasha, however, confronted the singer openly, leading to a scuffle that drew the attention of airport security officials. The situation escalated quickly, resulting in the singer being restrained and placed in handcuffs.

The video, posted on TikTok by blogger Tosin Silverdam on 1 December, has since gone viral, prompting a mix of concern, criticism and speculation among fans and industry watchers.
