Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Kwara South senatorial seat, received a warm reception in Offa on Wednesday as he arrived for a consultative meeting with party elders, an outing many described as a homecoming.
The visit formed part of his ongoing consultations across Kwara South, having earlier met APC stakeholders in Isin, Oyun, Oke-Ero, Ekiti, Irepodun and Ifelodun local government areas.
Addressing party elders at Shawo Hall, Offa, Nurudeen said his aspiration was driven by a genuine desire to serve the public interest and humanity, pledging effective and people-centred representation if elected in 2027.
He assured party leaders that his focus would be on quality legislation, constituency development and inclusive governance that reflects the aspirations of the people of Kwara South.
Engr. Nurudeen also made a case for zoning, arguing that fairness supports the Igbomina bloc in the next senatorial election.
According to him, “Senator Yisa Lola Ashiru is serving a second term, and when his eight years are added to the four years of Senator Rafiu, it totals 12 years. The bloc that deserves the next occupant of the seat is Igbomina.”
He stressed that the call was not rooted in division but in equity and balance, adding that such an approach would strengthen unity within the party and the district.
APC elders in Offa, including Dr. Folorunsho Taiyese and Mrs. Iyabo Olagunju, commended Balogun’s aspiration and consultations, describing him as a credible aspirant with the experience and vision to represent Kwara South effectively in the Senate.
