The Omo Ibile Igbomina on Thursday held a major political summit at the Monarch Luxury Palace Hotel, Ganmo, Kwara State, with a firm declaration of its collective agenda for the 2027 Kwara South Senatorial seat.
The gathering, themed “Igbomina Lokan for Kwara South Senate 2027,” drew a significant assembly of political leaders, community stakeholders, and traditional rulers across Igbomina land.
Hosted by the National President of the Union, Elder Gabriel Yemi Jimoh, the summit featured a strong turnout of dignitaries.
In attendance was the representative of the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq—the Deputy Chief of Staff, Princess Risikat Adebukola Babalola. Others present included Chief Solo Olaoye, Chairman of the Occasion; Barrister Kayode Towoju of Offa Local Government; Hon. Ambassador Zainab Damilola, Development Officer of Offa Local Government; and Pa Abdullahi Folorunso (Tayese) from Offa.
Also present was Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun (ENACT), represented by Engr. Bayo Alao.
A full contingent of royal fathers from Igbomina land graced the event, including:

• The Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty Oba (Barrister) Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu
• The Elese of Igbaja, His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Ahmed Awuni Babalola Arepo III
• The Olomu of Omu-Aran, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti (Olomu Efon II)
The summit commenced with prayers offered in both Islamic and Christian rites by Imam Abdulqudr Salaudeen, Imam Omo Bibi Igbomina, and Pastor Sunday Ajileye.
During his welcome speech, Elder Gabriel Yemi Jimoh expressed appreciation to all supporters who contributed financially to the summit.
He also acknowledged the presence of representatives from Ekiti Local Government and the Ibolo kingdom, stating that the gathering was driven by the collective desire to produce a senator in 2027.
He stressed that the cause was not tied to any political party or individual but was centred on Igbomina interests.
Princess Risikat Adebukola Babalola, speaking on behalf of the governor, stated that the Igbomina people have always stood with others and that the time had come for Igbomina to lead. She urged the people not to be afraid but to stand firm and work for the growth of Igbomina land.
Barrister Kayode Towoju noted that people from the Ekiti axis valued fairness and unity, adding that they fully supported the call for Igbomina to represent Kwara South in the Senate in 2027.
He also appreciated the contributions of leaders from Offa, including the late Olawoyin, who, during his lifetime, championed the rights of the people.
His Royal Majesty Oba (Barrister) Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu stated that the gathering was not convened to attack any personality or campaign for any specific aspirant.
He emphasised that the objective of the summit was to canvass support for the 2027 senatorial ambition of Igbomina.
Speaking on behalf of all traditional rulers in the Kwara South Senatorial District, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti (Olomu Efon II), expressed appreciation to the union, the various kingdoms represented, and the political figures in attendance.
He declared that it was indeed time for Igbomina to lead and appealed for unity among the people, urging them to avoid actions that could divide the region.
He prayed that the aspirations of the people would be fulfilled.
