The solar-powered streetlight initiative of Engr. Akeem Ibrahim Adediji, FNSE, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Adediji Construction Nigeria Limited, has continued to gather momentum, as installation of 15 solar streetlights commenced today at the Owode Market in Offa, Kwara State.

The latest phase of the project follows a visit on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, by a delegation representing Engr. Adediji to the market leadership.

The team, which included Rasaq Sikiru, Chief Executive Officer of Sk Tech Solar and General Contractors; Taofik Adekunle Jimoh, Editor of News Bulletin Nigeria; and Muhammad Rotimi Cypher of The WhitePaper Media Ltd, met with the Iyaloja General of Offaland, Alhaja Chief (Mrs) Idiat Ige Ishola Yusuf, and the Babaloja General of Offa, Alhaji Chief Mashood Bello, to discuss the project’s objectives and identify strategic locations for the installations.

During the meeting, both market leaders—joined by several traders—offered prayers for Engr. Adediji, commending his generosity and commitment to improving the business environment in Offa.

The installation exercise, which began immediately after the consultation, is expected to cover key areas within Owode Market, enhancing security, visibility, and the overall trading experience for market users, especially during early morning and late evening hours.

Speaking about the project, Engr. Adediji emphasized that the initiative is part of his broader vision to promote safety and support economic growth across Offa through sustainable infrastructure.

Residents and traders have praised the move, describing it as a thoughtful intervention that will reduce incidents of theft and improve commercial activities after dusk.

The Owode Market installation adds to a growing list of locations benefiting from Engr. Adediji’s solar streetlight initiative, including the Halleluyah area, Imperial Event Center, Nawar-Ud-Deen Jummat Mosque, Bahrul Ulum Al-Adabiy Al-Kamali Institute, and (Ile Esunja) Balogun Ward.

All these solidifies his reputation as a development-driven philanthropist and a dependable advocate for community progress in Offa.
