PDP Reinstates Wike’s Ally, Samuel Anyanwu, As National Secretary

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, alongside three other top officials, following a recent court order stopping the party’s planned national convention.

The decision, which took immediate effect, also affected the National Legal Adviser, Mr. Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN); Deputy Legal Adviser, Mr. Okechukwu Osuoha; and National Organising Secretary, Mr. Umaru Bature.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, confirmed the development on Saturday while briefing journalists after an emergency NWC meeting held at the party’s Legacy House headquarters in Abuja.

According to Ologunagba, the suspensions were in line with the party’s constitution and internal disciplinary procedures aimed at maintaining cohesion and respect for due process within its ranks.

He said, “The NWC, in accordance with the constitution of our great party, has resolved to suspend the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; the National Legal Adviser, Mr. Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN; the Deputy Legal Adviser, Mr. Okechukwu Osuoha; and the National Organising Secretary, Mr. Umaru Bature, for one month. They have also been referred to the PDP Disciplinary Committee for further action.”
