June 12: FIBSU President-Elect Calls On Ibadan Students To Defend Nigeria’s Democratic Gains

The Director of Media and Publicity, Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union (National Council), Comrade Adesina Quadri Ademola, has congratulated the National President of the Union, Aare Giwa Kamorudeen Olawale, on successfully completing his Bachelor’s degree at the National Open University of Nigeria.

Aare Giwa, who signed out after fulfilling all academic requirements for a B.Sc in Criminology and Security Studies, was described as a “resilient leader whose commitment to personal growth mirrors his dedication to the Union.”

Comrade Ademola commended the president’s ability to balance leadership responsibilities with academic demands, noting that his latest achievement sets a strong precedent for student leaders across the country.

He emphasised that the feat underscores the Union’s long-held ethos of excellence, discipline and capacity building, adding that the president’s academic progress positions him for greater contributions to the national discourse on security and youth development.

The Media Director urged members of the Ibadan student community to take inspiration from Aare Giwa’s journey, stressing that the future favours leaders who continually invest in knowledge and self-development.

He reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to nurturing its members for transformative leadership roles within and beyond academic institutions.
