Kwara Ekiti indigenes at the weekend rolled out the drums in grand celebration as they honoured one of their most illustrious sons, Chief (Dr.) Audu Musa Idowu, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin/Irepodun Federal Constituency.
He was decorated with the Award of Excellence in recognition of his far-reaching contributions to the growth and development of Ekiti and the wider Ekiti/Oke-Ero Local Government Area.
The event, held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Harmony Intercontinental Hotels & Tourism Ltd., Ilorin, drew eminent personalities, community leaders, royal fathers, stakeholders, and residents who unanimously described the honour as “well deserved and long overdue.”
The gathering was hosted jointly by the Ekiti and Oke-Ero Local Government Secretariats, who also extended a formal invitation to Chief Dr. Audu Musa Idowu for their End-of-the-Year Get-Together, Fund-Raising Luncheon, and Awards Ceremony.
Royal Fathers of the Day included:
– His Royal Majesty, Oba Alhaji Saliu AbdulKareem Adasofegbe Arowobeku I, Olosi of Osi and Chairman, Ekiti Local Government Traditional Council.
– His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. Samuel Niyi Dada JP (Okinbaloye Aponbiepo II), Alofa of Ilofa and Chairman, Oke-Ero Local Government Traditional Council.
Chief (Dr.) Audu Musa Idowu was ably represented by Chief Akinola Jacob Olorunnishola, President of the Koro Progressive Union, who received the award on his behalf.
In his remarks, Olorunnishola said the community holds Dr. Audu in high esteem, noting that his “legacy of service continues to speak for him across generations.”
He’s described as a pillar of progress, a voice of the people, a champion of community development, and a symbol of unity and empowerment.
Dr. Audu’s footprint is evident in several empowerment initiatives, infrastructural projects, and humanitarian interventions that have uplifted many across Ekiti land.
Community members at the ceremony spoke glowingly of his contributions—ranging from youth empowerment schemes to support for widows, community development projects, and advocacy for equitable governance.
Many said his passion for grassroots prosperity has created opportunities, restored hope, and inspired a new sense of direction within the constituency.
