The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, Shehu Kambile, has stepped down from his position as Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Kambile, who made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday in Yola, said his decision was taken after careful reflection on his political commitments and the need to reposition the ADC as a credible opposition force in the state.
According to him, his resignation was a strategic move aimed at devoting his full attention to consolidating the party’s grassroots structure and advancing its role in the state’s political landscape.
“My appointment was through the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) initiative, which seeks to promote inter-party cooperation and national cohesion,” Kambile explained. “While I remain appreciative of Governor Fintiri for the opportunity to serve, it is time to refocus my energy on building a vibrant and issue-driven opposition capable of offering the people a credible alternative.”
The ADC chieftain also commended former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for his unwavering commitment to democratic values and inclusive political dialogue, noting that his leadership continues to inspire many within the party.
He urged party members across the state to remain united and steadfast, stressing that internal cohesion and strategic planning were crucial for the ADC to become a formidable political force ahead of future elections.
