Reality TV star and serial entrepreneur, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has officially launched her bold attempt to etch her name in the Guinness World Records — this time with a **24-hour beauty marathon in the heart of Lagos.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate kicked off the record-breaking bid at exactly 8:00pm on Saturday, October 11, at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History, Surulere, amid a fanfare of music, lights, and celebrity support.
The marathon part of the Tacha Beauty Festival running from October 10 to 12 — aims to set a new record for the most makeovers done in 24 hours**, with over 150 models lined up for the challenge.
Before diving into the historic task, Tacha took a moment for an emotional tribute to her late mother. A large banner displayed at the venue read:
“Every makeover, every smile, every moment today is for you. Your legacy lives through me.”
Dressed in a custom glam jumpsuit, the media personality was seen kneeling solemnly in front of the banner, her hands clasped in silent prayer — a moment that drew applause and emotion from the crowd.
The venue quickly turned into a hive of activity as fans, beauty influencers, and celebrities stormed the grounds to show support. Spotted among the crowd were fellow record-breaker Hilda Baci, comedian Broda Shaggi, and stars like Dabota Lawson, Liquorose, Nons Miraj, Somadina Anyama, and Samuel Banks.
