The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five suspects in connection with the killing of about thirteen local vigilantes in Oke-Ode.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 28, 2025, when suspected bandits launched an attack on the community, killing about thirteen members of the local vigilante group.
The attack threw residents into panic, causing widespread fear and sorrow as families of the victims called on security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Speaking with journalists on Friday in Ilorin, the Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the arrest of five suspects linked to the case.
He identified the suspects as Umar Babuga, Mohammed Ahmed, Aliyu Buba-Alade, Sidi Buba-Alade, and Sheu Buba-Alade.
Olaiya noted that investigations are still ongoing, adding that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
The Commissioner assured residents of the command’s commitment to ensuring peace and security across the state, urging communities to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
